Terms and Conditions and Preparation Instructions for Exams
Mandatory Terms and Conditions
I want to reinforce the points about academic integrity and about
respect for copyright.
- Every document or video provided as part of this course is
copyrighted material. Posting or sharing the material without
permission is prohibited.
- Each exam is solo work.
- Do not even mention the exam to any other student. If your
roommate is taking the same course, lock up your work carefully. If
you have questions or concerns send them to me.
- Even the slightest mention or discussion can pollute your
thinking and affect your solution.
- I will pursue academic integrity violations. In some cases, a
resulting low grade may lead to your graduation being delayed or
your student visa being canceled or a job offer being
rescinded.
- If you cheat, the consequences are completely your fault. Don't
whine and don't ask for exceptions.
If you don't accept the above terms, the only option is to withdraw
from the course. Contact the graduate or undergraduate program
director.

Preparation Instructions
- Note that each exam asks for brief explanations for every answer you provide, including for the true-false questions.
- Submit as PDF to the appropriate locker.
- Make sure you prepare your solution in typed text or neat handwriting. Scanned in pencil writing doesn't work. Phone camera photos of notebooks do not work.
- Use 1 inch margins and 12pt text. I will be printing the exams out at about 110% magnification for easy reading. Text that's close to the edge may get cut off.
- Write your name on every page in the top margin but 0.8 or more
inches away from the page's edge.
- Sign the affirmation by hand and scan it OR type in the affirmation text with your name below it. Place the affirmation at the beginning of the first page of your submission.
- There are small deductions of points for failing to meet these preparation instructions.
