Homework 3 for CSC691D: Advanced Database Management
You are allowed to collaborate for this homework. Form teams of 1-3
students. Mention the names of your partners on your homework.
- (10 points each, 30 points total) Problem 1 in Chubin&Liang.
- (10 points each, 30 points total) Problem 2 in Chubin&Liang.
- (20 points) Problem 3 in Chubin&Liang.
- (30 points) Following the seaport example in Knoblock et al.'s
paper (and making any additional assumptions you believe necessary),
please
- Build a taxonomy for students in a university. Assume
the student databases are organized by college, department, and status
(grad/undergrad).
- Formulate a query to find all grad students in the college of
engineering.
- Assuming base databases for each status at the departmental
level, produce the expanded query for the department of computer
science.
